Eastern Smooth Beardtongue

Eastern Beardtongue (Penstemon laevigatus) is a spring blooming perennial with smooth stems and loose clusters of pale lavender, tubular flowers. Look closely at the flower throat and you can see the small yellow beard that gives beardtongues their name. It grows naturally in meadows, fields, and woodland edges.
