Pennsylvania Sedge (Carex pensylvanica) is a low growing native sedge with fine, arching foliage that gradually spreads into a soft groundcover. It grows naturally in dry woodlands and open woods, making it a useful choice beneath trees, along woodland paths, or in broad sweeps where traditional lawn grass struggles. Its subtle spring flowers and green foliage bring a quiet, natural look to shaded gardens.
